Australian Catholic Youth Council (ACYC)

The primary advisory body of the ACBC Office for Youth is the Australian Catholic Youth Council. The ACYC advises the BCFYL on:

  • Listening and responding to the voice of Australia’s young Catholics; and
  • Planning, promoting and advocating structures, processes, policies and guidelines to support Catholic youth ministry in Australia.

The Council meets twice a year and is made up of young adults and senior youth ministry leaders from around Australia. Its work is informed by the experience and insights of its members and by regular reports from key project management bodies including:.

  • Australian Catholic Youth Festival – Steering Committee
  • Australian Catholic Youth Ministry Convention – Steering Committee
  • Australian World Youth Day Committee
  • Youth and Youth Ministry Research Task Group
    Tasked with responding to requests and identifying opportunities for research into youth and youth ministry in the Catholic Church in Australia.
